Double wrap super soft leather bracelet silk screened with designs inspired by ancient Greek art history. Snap closure. Handcrafted in Athens, Greece.

About Aphrodite and Diadumenos: Both figures stand in contrapposto, name used in the visual arts to describe a human figure standing with most of its weight on one foot so that its shoulders and arms twist off-axis from the hips and legs. The balanced, harmonious pose suggests a calm and relaxed state of mind.

About Genealogical Tree of Gods: The ancient Greek mankind, trying to explain certain metaphysical phenomena and anxieties, invented amazing myths concerning the Cosmogony (the creation of the World) and the Theogony (the birth of the Gods).
Thus, the ancient Greek people created their own splendid, yet human-like world of gods, justifying the various abstract significances like Love, Birth or Death.

About The Abduction of the Daughters of Leucippus: Zeus, observes, seated on the far left, Aphrodite, goddess of love, sits in the lower part of the scene, clearly conniving in the abduction. Her attendant Peitho, goddess of Persuasion, flees from the scene.

About Knossos' Labyrinth: In Greek mythology, King Minos dwelled in a palace at Knossos. Daedalus constructed for him a labyrinth in which to retain his son, the Minotaur. (The bracelet is pictured in natural leather color and in white. We have the natural leather color only in stock. White is shown just for design.)

Meet the Maker: Zacharias Art + Object is an artistic creation of aesthetic value. Our motto has always been “Inspired by Art History” and our desire is to express our very own point of view through design, as well as to keep learning, trying always to do something new. We follow traditional handcraft techniques like silkscreen printing, leather sewing, Japanese bookbinding, and recently we started producing objects with laser cutter. Our studio is a creative workshop based in Exarcheia, Athens. Exarcheia, our neighborhood, is renowned for being Athens' historical centre of all kinds of different political and intellectual activism, located in downtown Athens, the city we love for its historical and contemporary.
